Srinagar:: DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR) Rajiv Oomprakash Pande flagged off a cycle rally from Lal Chowk, Kashmir, to Kanyakumari under the “Pollution-Free India” campaign.
The rally features senior citizens, all above 50, who aim to promote environmental awareness and fitness across the country.
The event commenced at the iconic Clock Tower in Lal Chowk. Speaking to media persons, DIG CKR Rajiv Oomprakash Pande, as per JKNS, highlighted the significance of the initiative. “Their goal is to spread the message of a pollution-free India through this cycle rally. These senior citizens approached me with the idea, and I felt it was a commendable effort to encourage,” he said.
He further stressed on the importance of community-driven initiatives. “If citizens take such steps, whether to combat pollution or drug abuse, we will wholeheartedly support and motivate them. Fitness and awareness are powerful tools to eliminate societal ills,” he added.
DIG Pande while urging the public to draw inspiration from the participants said, “Take motivation from these individuals who are cycling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to spread this vital message.” (JKNS)
