Karnah: The State Bank of India (SBI) Karnah branch has contributed equipment worth ₹2 lakhs to Public Health Centre (PHC) Gabra as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The donation aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure and improve the quality of services for the local community.

The donated items include a 2400 kV generator, one office table, three airport chairs, two high-back chairs, and a water dispenser with a cooling cabinet. The equipment was officially handed over by Branch Manager Nasir Nabi and Field Officer Nazir Ahmad and was received by Dr. Shafi Mallah, Medical Officer, PHC Gabra, during a brief ceremony at the health center.

“This initiative underscores SBI’s commitment to the welfare of communities in remote and underserved areas like Karnah. By addressing critical needs, we aim to contribute to the region’s development,” said Branch Manager Nasir Nabi.

The donation has been warmly received by the PHC staff and the local population. The new equipment, particularly the generator, is expected to significantly improve the center’s operational efficiency, especially during harsh winters when power disruptions are frequent.

Field Officer Nazir Ahmad emphasized the bank’s dedication to community support, stating, “SBI’s CSR activities are focused on addressing real challenges faced by the community. Supporting healthcare facilities like PHC Gabra is part of our effort to make a meaningful impact.”

Dr. Shafi Mallah, the Medical Officer of PHC Gabra, expressed his gratitude to SBI for the generous contribution, highlighting that the upgraded infrastructure would enhance patient care and create a more conducive working environment for the medical team.

Community members also lauded SBI’s proactive approach, praising the bank for addressing vital needs in the region. They emphasized that such initiatives play a critical role in uplifting healthcare services in remote areas like Karnah.

This contribution reflects SBI’s broader vision of supporting sustainable development and improving public services in underserved regions. The equipment is expected to benefit both the healthcare staff and the local residents who rely on the center for essential medical services.

SBI Karnah’s initiative reaffirms its commitment to being a socially responsible institution, dedicated to uplifting the quality of life in the communities it serves.
