Srinagar: National Conference on saturday praised Budget 2025 for no income tax up to 12 lakhs, urged J&K’s inclusion in the top 50 tourist destinations, and opposed water meter installations saying no water fee to be charged.
Talking to media persons about the Budget 2025, National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, as per news agency JKNS here in Srinagar said, “We see some things very positively in the budget, such as no income tax for incomes up to 12 lakhs, and the debate on the drug menace.”
He further added, “As far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, people here are expecting that J&K must be included in the 50 tourist destinations being discussed. We expect J&K to be part of it.”
“J&K is a tourism hub, and we must also get medical tourism. Overall, we see it as initially balanced, but once we have proper and full figures, we will comment further. We want a good package for J&K.”
He stressed, “We expect a very good package for J&K, as people have elected a government after decades. The Government of India must keep the mandate of the people in mind and provide a good package for the people of J&K, particularly for employment and development.”
When asked about the installation of water meters, Tanvir replied, “We have already said we will not collect any money on water, and we have already announced it. As far as commercial concerns are involved, we will see that. But as of now, meters will not be installed,” Tanvir said. (JKNS)
