Srinagar: Police in Sopore have arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police party of Police Post Bus Stand headed by IC PP Bus Stand under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, during patrolling intercepted a person identified as Farooq Ahmad Ganie @Farooq Jandgur son of Ghulam Nabi Ganie resident of Bunpora Langate Handwara. During search, Police party were able to recover 11 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
