Security Forces launch search operations in Akhnoor after IED Blast

Jammu:Forces have launched search operations in many areas of Akhnoor on Wednesday after two soldiers were killed in IED blast on Tuesday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that a massive search operations were launched at the maximum places of Akhnoor and other areas as well after yesterday’s incident.

On Tuesday, an improvised explosive device (IED) blast occurred near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Laleali area of Akhnoor sector, Jammu district, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers.

Another soldier sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The explosion took place around 3:50 PM during a routine patrol near the LoC fence. In response, the Army’s White Knight Corps initiated extensive search operations in the area to identify and neutralize any further threats.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, stating, “I salute the supreme sacrifice of our Army bravehearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Their valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten. The entire nation stands firmly with the family of the martyrs in this hour of grief.”

The Army’s Northern Command also expressed condolences, with Lt. Gen. M V Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander Northern Command, saluting the supreme sacrifice of the bravehearts and affirming support for the bereaved families.—(JKNS)
