Rajouri: A man attempting suicide from a mobile tower in Thanamandi of distict Rajouri was rescued in a joint operation on Wednesday.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Thannamandi, Abid Hussain Shah told the news agency JKNS that the rescue operation was carried out by the SDRF, Wildlife Department, Police, and Civil Administration soon after a live video of the incident surfaced on social media.
The person, whose name has been withheld, is a resident of Thanamandi. After being brought to safety, he was handed over to the concerned authorities for further assistance, he said.
The official added that during the investigation, it was found that FIRs were already registered against the individual. “Our priority was to save his life, which we did. Further investigations into his FIRs are underway,” Abid Said.(JKNS)
