Kupwara:  In a significant step towards fostering national integration and cultural exchange, 25 students from five different states under the Border Area Youth Exchange Programme, organized by Nehru Yuva Kalyan Sansthan, Kupwara, visited Army Goodwill School Wayne, Kupwara, run by the Indian Army’s 160 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) JAK RIF under the aegis of Vajr Division.

The initiative aimed to provide students with first-hand exposure to the region’s rich heritage, military history, and the unwavering spirit of its people.

The students had earlier toured the border districts of Teetwal and Karnah, where they learned about the heroic sacrifices of the Armed Forces in various wars. The visit helped them understand the deep-rooted traditions and historical significance of Kupwara, a region known for its resilience and unity.

At AGS Wayne, the students were introduced to the Indian Army’s initiatives in improving educational infrastructure and empowering the youth of border areas. They interacted with students from Kupwara, who shared their perspectives about the region. They also witnessed the Army’s dedication to fostering education, skill development, and community welfare. The students were felicitated by the Commanding Officer of the 160 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army), who was also the Chief Guest for the event.

The students expressed their gratitude for this enriching experience. They emphasized how the visit broadened their understanding of life in the valley and instilled a deep sense of patriotism and admiration for the resilience of the local communities.

The Border Area Youth Exchange Programme has once again proven to be a powerful initiative, strengthening the bonds between the youth and the nation’s frontline regions. It continues to inspire young minds, fostering unity, awareness, and a shared vision of progress.
