In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, the Food Safety team Srinagar, Drug and Food Control Organization, conducted inspections across various locations, collecting samples and taking action against non-compliant food businesses.

Statement reads, acting on a specific tip-off, the team raided a chicken shop at Chinar Chowk Rawalpora, where they discovered approximately 60 kg of stale chicken, 35 kg of internal chicken parts, and 25 kg of sheep fat in extremely poor condition, emitting a foul smell. The contaminated products were immediately destroyed, and the shop was shut down.
