Rajouri: Schools in Budhal village of Rajouri have reopened on Saturday after being shut down for two months due to a mysterious illness that claimed 17 lives, including 14 children.
As per details available with news agency JKNS, the schools were closed on January 23, and the village was declared a containment zone following the outbreak.
An official told news agency JKNS that, “With the examination session approaching, the administration decided to resume classes on March 4 to ensure students do not fall behind.”
To compensate for the academic loss, the authorities have reduced the examination syllabus, official said.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of the illness remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. (JKNS)
