APPREHENSION OF TWO AL-BADR TERRORISTS BY 22 RASHTRIYA RIFLES, SOG WADOORA & 92 BN CRPF FROM GORIPURA VILLAGE(ZAINGAIR), SOPORE

*APPREHENSION OF TWO AL-BADR TERRORISTS BY 22 RASHTRIYA RIFLES, SOG WADOORA & 92 BN CRPF FROM GORIPURA VILLAGE(ZAINGAIR), SOPORE*

On 20 Sep 2020, 22 Rashtriya Rifles along with SOG Wadoora and 92 Bn CRPF carried out a successful cordon and search operation in orchard near Bhat Moh, Goripura village of Zaingair belt in 22 RR AOR which led to the apprehension of two active Al Badr terrorists namely Zahid Farooq Sheikh S/o Farooq Ah Sheikh R/o Dhoni Moh, Edipora, Bomai and Shariefudin Ahanger @ Shakir S/o Gh Md Ahanger R/o Puth Moh, Edipora and recovered huge WLS to include one UBGL, one Chinese grenade, two AK Rifle Magazines, one pouch and Seventy four AK Rifle rounds. Both the terrorists were working with active local terrorist cdr of Al Badr terror outfit Ganai Khawaja R/o Karalgund in Sopore and were involved in the murder of Danish Ah Nazar S/o Manzoor Ah Nazar R/o Edipora, Bomai on 06 June 2020.

Earlier in the month one Al Badr terrorist alongwith two associates, who were involved in planning and executing grenade attack on Police Post Warpura, were apprehended from the area of Dangerpura, Sopore on 11 Sep 2020. With successful apprehension of these three terrorists and their associates by 22 Rashtriya Rifles, Al Badr has suffered major setback in their recruitment drive and plans to carry out terror attacks in the area of Sopore and Zaingair belt.
