Srinagar: In a significant step towards environmental sustainability, the NGO Kashmir Concern has adopted Amar Singh College to transform it into a Green Campus. The initiative was launched today under the leadership of Dr. Touseef Ahmed, Chairman of Kashmir Concern, in collaboration with the college administration.

The drive saw active participation from Principal Ajaz Ahmad Hakak, who planted saplings alongside faculty members from the Botany Department. The event was coordinated by Azhar Hussain, Organising Secretary, and Fahad Khan, Media Secretary of Kashmir Concern, who emphasized the NGO’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly practices in educational institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Touseef Ahmed stated, “Our mission is to create awareness about environmental conservation and encourage institutions to adopt sustainable practices. Amar Singh College will serve as a model for other campuses in the Valley.”

Principal Ajaz Ahmad Hakak appreciated the initiative, saying, “This green drive aligns with our vision of fostering an eco-conscious student community. We will continue to support such efforts for a cleaner, greener future.”

The campaign included the plantation of various native tree species, with plans for regular maintenance and expansion. Kashmir Concern aims to involve students in upcoming eco-activities, including workshops and cleanliness drives, to ensure long-term environmental impact.
