Rajouri, Apr 18 (JKNS): The Indian Army has initiated an enquiry after reports surfaced alleging that some individuals were manhandled by its personnel during a search operation in the Rajouri district, officials said on Friday.
An official told news agency JKNS, inputs had been received regarding possible movement of terrorists in a vehicle in the sensitive area. “Search operations were being conducted accordingly.
Preliminary information suggests that when a vehicle was stopped, an individual allegedly attempted to snatch a soldier’s weapon and scuffled with the personnel on duty,”
The Army maintained that it remains committed to the highest standards of professionalism and discipline in counter-terror operations. It assured that if any personnel are found guilty of misconduct, strict action will be taken under existing laws, he said.
The force also urged all sections of society to continue cooperating with the Army for maintaining collective security in the area, he added. (JKNS)
