IPL Pays Tribute to Pahalgam Victims with Minute’s Silence, Black Armbands

Hyderabad: The Indian Premier League on Wednesday paid a solemn tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, with a minute’s silence observed before the start of the match in Hyderabad.

As per the official X handle of the IPL as per news agency JKNS wrote, Let’s all stand for peace and humanity. A minute’s silence was observed in Hyderabad to pay respect to the victims of Pahalgam terror attack.

All the players, support staff, commentators & match officials are wearing black armbands for tonight’s game, reads the post.

Speaking at the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins expressed his sorrow over the killings. “It has been heartbreaking for us as well. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” he said, adding a personal note of empathy from the cricketing world.

Similarly, Mumbai Indian Captain, Hardik Pandya said, “I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We as a team and a franchise condemn any such attacks.”

The gesture drew praise from fans and netizens across the country, with many lauding the IPL for standing in solidarity with Kashmir during a time of mourning.

It is important to note that on tuesday afternoon terrorists attack tourists in Pahalgam, where 26 tourists including one local lost their lives. (JKNS)
