Students Lead Charge Against Drug Abuse at Awareness Event in Srinagar

Srinagar: In a unified effort to raise awareness about the perils of drug abuse and promote a healthier future for the youth, Angel’s Cultural Academy, in collaboration with Shahr-e-Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society (SKLCWS) and New Genius Public School, Srinagar, organized a successful Anti-Drug Awareness Programme.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students who delivered impactful performances through drama, debates, and songs, all centered around the theme of fighting drug addiction and fostering a drug-free society. The programme was skillfully hosted by Mr. Sahil Yousuf.

Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included:

* Mr. Ghulam Rasool Akhoon, Station Director, All India Radio Srinagar (Chief Guest)
* Nazim Nazir, Renowned Journalist
* Mehjabeen Gousia, Celebrated Kashmiri Poetess
* Umar Farooq Bhat, Youngest Historian
* Sheikh Ajaz, Principal, New Genius Public School, Nawab Bazar, Srinagar.
* Dr.Tariq Ahmad Shera, President of Angel’s Cultural Academy & Shahr e Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society.

A key highlight of the event was a motivational speech by Dr.Tariq Ahmad Shera, who emphasized the importance of making positive life choices and avoiding the destructive path of substance abuse. He extended heartfelt thanks to all the dignitaries, participants, and particularly Mr. Sheikh Ajaz for his critical role in making the event a success.

Dr. Shera also announced a series of future initiatives aimed at continuing the fight against drug abuse through educational programmes and community outreach.

The programme concluded with a ceremonial distribution of mementos, medals, and certificates to honor the efforts of the guests, students, and media representatives who contributed to the event’s success.
