Srinagar, May 8 (JKNS): Pakistani troops opened unprovoked fire along the Line of Control during the intervening night of May 7 and 8 in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources told news agency JKNS, the shelling targeted Indian positions using small arms and artillery guns in sectors opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor.

The Indian Army responded in equal measure to the cross-border firing, they said.
