Ganderbal, May 31 (JKNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, on Saturday said that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the upcoming Kheer Bhawani Mela, which will witness the participation of devotees from across the Valley.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine, IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, as per news agency JKNS, said, “The Kheer Bhawani Mela is about to commence soon, and its main function will be held on June 3. Devotees from various districts of the Kashmir Valley are expected to participate.”

He added, “The Jammu and Kashmir Police has made comprehensive preparations for the event. Alongside the police, paramilitary forces, traffic officials, and other security-related departments have also ensured solid arrangements to facilitate a smooth pilgrimage.”

“The goal is to ensure that devotees coming to the shrine face no inconvenience and that their security is fully assured. Jammu and Kashmir Police has always been proactive in conducting security reviews, and this year, we have further enhanced our planning in line with the overall strategy,” IGP Birdi said.

The senior police officer reaffirmed the commitment of the security forces to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for the devotees and stressed coordinated efforts among all security wings involved in the management of the pilgrimage. (JKNS)
