588 School Buses Audited for Safety in Anantnag; ARTO Ensures Compliance

Anantnag, June 20 (JKNS): The ARTO Anantnag has completed a detailed technical audit of school buses across various private schools in the district as part of efforts to enhance road safety and ensure strict adherence to transport guidelines.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that a total of 588 buses from 16 schools were audited during 2024-25 ending May 2025. The audit covered Goenka School (16 buses), Sapes School Dialgam (16 buses), New Kids School Gund Fatehpora (12 buses), Iqbal Memorial School Doru Anantnag (10 buses), Iqbal Memorial School Qazigund (13 buses), Shemsar International School (8 buses), Iqbal Memorial Educational Institute (9 buses), Smart Mission School Wampoh (8 buses), Smart Mission School Anantnag (9 buses), HSAT Anantnag (6 buses), CATS Anantnag (5 buses), Saint Joseph English Medium Bijbehara (8 buses), Oxford Presentation School Anantnag (3 buses), Radiant School Batengoo (3 buses) and Radiant Public School Anantnag (3 buses).

The audit confirmed that all schools have installed CCTV cameras, fire extinguishers, first aid kits and speed limiting devices (SLDs) in their buses. Additionally, each school has established Road Safety Clubs or designated volunteers in line with safety protocols.

The drive, supervised by ARTO Anantnag Mubashir Jan, focused on ensuring that school transport fleets fully comply with district road safety guidelines and national standards for safe school transportation. The ARTO emphasized that maintaining safety standards is critical to safeguarding students during daily commutes. (JKNS)
