Ganderbal, July 12: (JKNS) With a notable crackdown on terror-linked assets, the Ganderbal Police on Saturday attached immovable properties valued at Rs: 3.2 crore belonging to three terrorists currently operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“The action was taken under FIR No. 48/2009, registered under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Kheerbawani,” reads a statement issued to the news agency JKNS.
It says, the individuals whose properties were attached include:Farooq Ahmad Rather, S/O Abdul Ahad Rather, R/O Kurag, Ganderbal,Noor, Mohammad Parray, S/O Abdul Ahad Parray, R/O Hatbura, Ganderbal and Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, S/O Gh. Mohammad Sofi, R/O Khurhama, Ganderbal
“According to officials, a total of 9 kanals and 1½ marlas of land owned by these individuals has been attached following due legal procedures and in compliance with orders from the Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge (Special Judge designated under NIA Act).”
The statement also reads, this move is part of Ganderbal Police’s broader efforts to dismantle the ecosystem that supports terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. The action demonstrates a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and sends a strong message to those involved in subversive and anti-national activities.
“This action reflects our commitment to uphold law and order and safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the Union Territory. Ganderbal Police will continue to act firmly against all elements supporting terrorism,” he said adding the district police reiterated its dedication to maintaining peace, security, and public safety across the region—(JKNS)
