Srinagar, July 17 (JKNS): The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday conducted raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam, following a complaint of land fraud and revenue record tampering involving former Tehsildar Nusrat Aziz and six others.

Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday carried out raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam in connection with an FIR registered against seven individuals, including a Tehsildar, for alleged corruption, cheating, false mutations, and tampering with revenue records, it reads

As per officials, the case was registered following a complaint by a land buyer who alleged that he was duped after purchasing land in Balhama. The accused allegedly manipulated Khasra numbers in the sale deeds and inserted false mutations in connivance with revenue officials, it reads.

Officials also revealed that the prime accused, Nusrat Aziz, is already under investigation in a similar case (FIR No. 08/2021) nearing completion, reads the statement. (JKNS)
