10 Vehicles Seized, 28 Blacklisted in Kishtwar Traffic Drive; 1.38 Lakh Fine Recovered

Kishtwar: Acting on the directions of Secretary Transport Naveen S L (IAS) and under the supervision of Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS), the ARTO Kishtwar on Saturday launched a major crackdown on traffic violators, seizing 10 vehicles including two buses, blacklisting 28, suspending four route permits and nine driving licenses, while issuing 47 e-challans amounting to ₹1.38 lakh in fines.

Details available with news agency JKNS, Today the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kishtwar Tasleem Wani JKAS,following the directions of Secretary Transport Naveen SL IAS & under the overall supervision of Transport Commissioner J&K Vishesh Paul Mahajan JKAS,conducted a massive special enforcement drive across various locations in the district.

During the crackdown,10 vehicles including 02 Buses were seized for serious traffic violations.Furthermore,09 driving licenses also suspended on the spot for repeated and reckless traffic behavior.

In addition,Route Permits of 04 Vehicles suspended,28 vehicles were blacklisted & 47 e-challans were issued to various violators, amounting to a total fine of Rs 1.38 Lac,for various offences such as overloading, permit violations,Plying without functional SLD,absence of valid documents, and unsafe driving practices.

The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Kishtwar has reiterated its commitment to uphold road safety norms and is actively conducting such enforcement drives across different parts of the district.These drives are aimed at deterring violations and ensuring the safety of all commuters, especially passengers using public transport.

The ARTO Kishtwar appeals to all vehicle owners and drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, maintain valid documentation, and prioritize public safety to avoid strict penal actions. (JKNS)
