Sopore, July 26 (JKNS): With the theme “Taleem Se Taraqqi”, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the district administrations of Kupwara, Baramulla, and Bandipora, on Saturday organised the North Kashmir Education Fest-2025 at Subhana Sports Stadium, Sopore.
Details available with news agency JKNS said the fest aimed to provide students with a platform to explore higher education opportunities across premier institutions in the country. Reputed colleges and universities from across India participated, including Al Noor Paramedical College Srinagar, SBS College Amritsar, Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes Hoshiarpur, and Rashtriya Raksha University Gujarat, guiding students on various academic streams, including business, science, engineering, humanities, arts, and social sciences.
“Scholarships worth ₹3 crore were announced by participating colleges for meritorious students, particularly those from underprivileged and tribal backgrounds,” officials said.
The event saw participation from over 3,000 students who received career counselling and guidance based on their interests and aptitude. As part of the ‘Know Your Army’ campaign, the youth were also informed about opportunities to join the Indian Army.
The festival was attended by DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa (IAS), Brig Kapil Yadav (YSM, SM), Commander 7 Sector RR, SSP Sopore Iftikhar Talib (KPS), ADC Sopore S.A. Raina (JKAS), and other officials, besides prominent educationists including Principal BHSS Sopore Mushtaq Ahmad and former MC Chairperson Masarat Rasool Kar and Chairman SRM Welkin School Sopore Haji Inautulla.
