Army Launches Massive Flood Relief Operations Across Madhya Pradesh

s relentless rains continue to affect parts of Madhya Pradesh, the Indian Army has launched swift and coordinated flood relief operations across multiple districts under the operational command of MP/PMP Sub Area, 31 Armoured Division, and HQ Central Command.
Guna District:
•A dedicated column, along with one Engineer Task Force (ETF) and one Medical Team, has been mobilised.
•One team is currently deployed at Bamori village, where the situation is under control.
•A second team has been positioned at Fatehgarh (Kalora Dam)—the most vulnerable zone. The dam’s 12 sq km catchment area poses a risk to adjoining 4–5 sq km if breached. A strength of 02 officers, 04 JCOs, and 45 ORs has been deployed at Kalora village for immediate action.
•Nearby villages including Tumra, Singapur, and Rangpura have been evacuated by local authorities.
Shivpuri District:
•One ETF from Engineer Regiment has been mobilised.
•48 civilians have been successfully evacuated from Anantapur and Badarwas.
•The column is currently en route to Bharota village (Kolaras tehsil) for reconnaissance and further rescue efforts.
Ashoknagar & Gwalior Districts:
•Requests for assistance were received on 30 July 2025. In response, one Army column and one ETF have been mobilised.
•Reconnaissance is underway in coordination with the District Magistrate since 1830 hrs.
•Rescue operations are scheduled to commence from first light on 31 July 2025.
Air Support:
•Aemy Helicopters in Jhansi, are on standby and will be deployed as required.
The Indian Army remains committed to providing all possible assistance to the civil administration and affected population during this humanitarian crisis.
