Srinagar, Aug 4 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced the extension of the Amnesty Scheme for domestic electricity consumers till March 31, 2026, offering much-needed relief to households with pending power dues.
According to Government Order, issued by the Power Development Department a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the extension applies to domestic consumers under the same terms and conditions as laid out in Government Order No. 103-PDD of 2022 and Order No. 47-JKPDD of 2024, except for the 100% waiver of interest and surcharge, which will be applicable only on the outstanding amount as of March 31, 2025.
The scheme allows domestic consumers to clear their dues without additional penalties, but the government has made it clear that this will be the final extension of the amnesty. (JKNS)
