New Delhi, Aug 4 (JKNS): All J&K Shia Association President Imran Raza Ansari held a detailed meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday, focusing on rehabilitation of terror-affected families, religious freedoms, and other key concerns of Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting, Ansari raised key issues concerning the people of the Union Territory, including the urgent need for the rehabilitation of families affected by terrorism. He appreciated the efforts made under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, while also highlighting that several cases still require immediate attention and consistent follow-up.

The discussion also covered the recent observance of Muharram in the region. Ansari expressed gratitude for the cooperation extended by both the Central and UT administrations but flagged the ban on a few traditional processions. He urged that measures be taken to allow their peaceful revival from next year, in line with religious freedoms and local sentiments.

“We had an open and constructive dialogue,” Ansari said after the meeting. “I conveyed both my appreciation for the positive steps taken so far and my concerns regarding areas that need further action. I am hopeful that the discussion will translate into meaningful results for the people on the ground.”

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to maintaining peace, promoting inclusivity, and addressing the socio-political concerns of Jammu & Kashmir. (JKNS)
