Karnah Kupwara:In a heartwarming celebration of Raksha Bandhan, school girls from various educational institutions in Karnah, Kupwara — a far-flung region near the Line of Control — came together to tie rakhis to Indian Army personnel. The event highlighted the deep bond between the local population and the armed forces stationed in the remote border area.
The girls expressed their love and respect by offering handmade rakhis, sweets, and heartfelt wishes of brotherhood and national unity. Several Army officials and jawans were present at the event, receiving the rakhis with gratitude and also offering small gifts in return.
Speaking to the media, the girls shared, “Our Army brothers stay away from their homes to protect us, so today, we are their sisters. We support them and salute their sacrifice.” The celebration served as a powerful message of patriotism, emotional solidarity, and national integration in the border valley.
