Srinagar, Aug 12 (JKNS): The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Srinagar has stayed the government order reverting promoted District Programme Managers (DPMs) back to Block Programme Managers (BPMs) in the Rural Development Department, allowing them to continue in their present posts till further orders.
According to the tribunal order a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS stated that, the applicants had challenged the government decision to revert them to their previous positions, arguing that the move was arbitrary and without justification.
“Notice was issued on 29.07.2025, granting two weeks’ time to the respondents to file their reply. However, no such reply has been filed by the respondents till date.”
The order records that counsel for respondent No. 1, Mr. Satinder Singh, and Mr. Rais Ud Din Ganaie, DAG, sought six weeks’ further time to file the reply, which was accordingly granted.
The matter has now been listed for October 15, 2025. Meanwhile, the tribunal directed that “the operation and effect of the impugned orders shall remain stayed, and the applicants shall continue to hold and discharge the duties of the post of District Programme Manager (DPM) until further orders.” (JKNS)
