Srinagar, Aug 14 (JKNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that the Partition of India remains one of the most tragic chapters in the nation’s history, marked by immense suffering, displacement of millions, and deep wounds to the country’s pride.

In a post on X, UHM Shah as per news agency JKNS wrote, “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is a day to remember the pain of those who suffered due to the Partition of the country and to express our condolences. On this day, the Congress divided the nation into pieces, hurting the pride of Mother India,” it reads.

 

“The Partition led to violence, exploitation, and atrocities, and millions of people were displaced. I pay my heartfelt tribute to all those people. The country will never be able to forget this history and pain of Partition,” it reads.

 

Post further reads, “I offer my tribute to those who lost their lives in this horrific tragedy of Partition,” reads the post. (JKNS)
