Budgam, Aug 14 (JKNS): The Food Safety Department Budgam, in coordination with the District Legal Services Authority, on Thursday intensified market inspections to ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene norms.
Officials told news agency JKNS that during the drive, 25 kilograms of fish and a large quantity of sweets, found unfit for human consumption, were seized and destroyed on the spot. The inspections covered multiple vendors across the district, focusing mainly on perishable food items and confectionery products.
Authorities said the market checking drive will continue in the coming days. They warned that strict legal action will be taken against traders found selling substandard or expired food items. (JKNS)
