Fisherman Missing in Sopore, Rescue Operation Underway in Jhelum

Sopore, Aug 17 (JKNS): A fisherman, has gone missing in River Jhelum, triggering a massive rescue operation, officials said on Sunday.

An official told news agency JKNS that Dar had gone for fishing near Jamia Bridge Sopore on Saturday evening but did not return home. His family later informed the police and civil administration, following which rescue teams were pressed into service.

He was identified as Ali Mohammad Dar, Son in law of Muhammad Subhan Dar resident of Muslim Peer Sopore.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) along with Sopore Police have launched an extensive search in the river to trace the missing fisherman.
