We’re giving ration packets to families/ Rajesh Kumar, IG CRPF “.

On April 9th, 1965 a small contingent of 2nd Bn CRPF, successfully fought and repulsed an attack by a Pakistani Brigade on Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. As a tribute to the saga of the brave men of the Force, 9th April is celebrated as “Valour Day (शौर्य दिवस)” in the Force. On the occasion of 55th Valour Day (शौर्य दिवस), Dr. A. P. Maheshwari, DG CRPF, in his message conveyed that, when going gets tough, the tough gets going. Toughness is trademark of CRPF.
Today, the entire Nation is facing a tough time due to COVID-19. DG congratulated CRPF for gearing up to help people fight the invisible and invasive enemy.
It is in this spirit that CRPF, in Kashmir, chose the Valour Day to show its solidarity for the people of Kashmir, in need during the countrywide lockdown. As the country is going through extraordinary crisis of Coronavirus outbreak, CRPF is contributing to the cause and endeavouring to help daily wagers and needy people by way of distribution of ration and sanitisation kits. Taking this community outreach a little further and also to befittingly mark the 55th Valour Day, today, 2,000 ration packets and 15,000 sanitisation kits were flagged off by Sh. Rajesh K. Yadav, IG Kashmir Operations Sector, CRPF in the presence of Sh. Pramod. K. Pandey, IG, Srinagar Sector, CRPF and media people. These relief materials are meant for distribution in the remote regions of North Kashmir. The low key event was held at the Convoy Ground, Bakshi Stadium, Wazir Bagh, Srinagar and was graced by media personnel (all the media houses represented in the event in minimal number and that goes to show their mindfulness about social distancing and call of duty) and senior officers of CRPF in valley. The pan India Helpline Madadagar (14411-Toll Free and 7082814411- WhatsApp No.) manned and run by CRPF, is doing its bit by recording all the distress calls received in its control room and further disseminating them to units, geographically, for needful.
