Budgam, Aug 21 (JKNS): Residents of Rathsan Beerwa in central Kashmir’s Budgam district have expressed strong resentment after the Jal Shakti Department started digging up a road that was only recently macadamized.
Locals told news agency JKNS that the road had been macadamized just a few days ago and was even inaugurated by MLA Beerwa, Dr. Shafi Ahmed Wani. However, instead of completing pipeline repair work beforehand, the Jal Shakti Department has now begun demolishing the newly laid road surface.
“This work should have been carried out before the macadamization. Now the fresh road is being dug up again, and we will face the same hardships all over,” aggrieved residents said.
They also pointed out that despite damaging the road for pipeline repairs, people are still not receiving proper drinking water supply. “The negligence of the departments has left us with broken roads and no water. First they should have fixed the pipeline, and then the road could have been macadamized,” locals added.
Residents alleged that the lack of coordination between departments is leading to wastage of public money and unnecessary inconvenience to the public. They demanded immediate redressal of the issue. (JKNS)
