Leh, Aug 22 (JKNS): A Veterans Rally and Pension Adalat was organised at Leh on 22 August 2025 by Leh Sub Area on behalf of Fire and Fury Corps which was attended by more than 1500 Veterans, War Heroes and Veer Naris from far flung regions of Ladakh.

The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps on 22 August 2025 at Rinchen Auditorium. Senior serving military and civilian dignitaries, graced the occasion.

The rally was aimed at providing assistance to the Veterans, Veer Naris and Veer Matas for which large number of stalls were placed. As a gesture of respect and gratitude, the Gallantry Award Winners (War Heroes) and Veer Naris were felicitated by General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps. The ‘Awareness & Information Stalls’ provided an opportunity to Veterans and Veer Naris to seek information on various welfare schemes of the Indian Army, Central Government and Administration of UT Ladakh as relevant to them. During the event, veterans also registered their grievances with representatives of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA), Defence Pension Disbursing Office (DPDO), Leh, System for Pension Administration (SPARSH) and Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO).

Various facilities like medical and dental checkups, ECHS card registration and interaction with local bank officials were also organised for the attendees. The collaborative platform provided a unique opportunity for the veterans and their families to interact with both military and civil agencies, thereby resolving long pending issues.

The rally was a huge success witnessing an unprecedented turnout. The veteran community of Ladakh appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in organising the event. (JKNS)
