Srinagar, Aug 25 (JKNS): The Baramulla-Banihal rail service has become a source of daily trouble for commuters in Kashmir, with persistent delays continuing for over a month.
A group of passengers told news agency JKNS that the train service rarely operates on schedule, causing widespread inconvenience.
“We are unable to reach our offices on time. The late arrival of the train has become a serious problem for us,” said a group of government employees who use the service daily.
Commuters said the delays, often stretching beyond an hour, have turned the once-reliable service into a major headache.
“This has been happening for weeks now. The Northern Railway must take immediate steps, and the administration, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the LG’s office, should intervene to ensure punctuality,” said annoyed passengers.
The Baramulla-Banihal rail link is considered a crucial transport lifeline in the Valley, catering to government staff, students, traders, and the general public.
With delays becoming routine, the disruption is now severely affecting day-to-day life for hundreds of Kashmiris. (JKNS)
