Srinagar, Aug 29 (JKNS): In a significant humanitarian initiative Chinar Corps’s Chak Keegam Bn organized a Artificial Limb Fitment Camp at Chak Keegam on 28 Aug 25, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of the local populace.
The camp aimed to provide artificial limbs, mobility aids and rehabilitation support to differently-abled individuals who had lost limbs due to accidents, medical conditions or conflict-related incidents. A team of prosthetic specialists, doctors and physiotherapists from Jaipur Foot, worked in close coordination to assess patients, provide customized fittings and offer guidance on long-term care & physiotherapy. The initiative was designed to restore mobility, induce confidence and ensure independence in individuals by providing wheelchairs, artificial limbs, hearing aids & crutches.
57 beneficiaries received artificial limbs and assistive devices during the camp. Each recipient was provided with medical assistance, counseling and training to help them reintegrate into society with renewed confidence.
The initiative was warmly received by the local communities, beneficiaries and their families expressed deep gratitude towards Indian Army for their compassionate outreach. For several recipients, the camp opened the door to renewed opportunities, self-reliance and improved quality of life. Beneficiaries described the initiative as a life-changing moment that would allow them to lead independent and productive lives.
