Srinagar, Aug 31 (JKNS): Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), in partnership with Hamdard Learning & Welfare Society, successfully organised a mega Job Fair today, 30th August 2025 at the Iqbal Institute of Technology & Management (IITM) campus at Hyderpora, Srinagar.
The job fair attracted a registration of 2,769 candidates for the Job Fair, alongside 34 companies. Notably, 1,606 candidates were interviewed, out of which 404 candidates have been successfully shortlisted and selected due to this event.
The event was graced by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), as the Chief Guest, who applauded the efforts of AMP, IITM, and Hamdard for providing a much-needed employment and skill development platform in the Valley. He urged the youth to prepare themselves for upcoming opportunities and added, “Education is the only means to come out of the quagmire of poverty, and such initiatives provide a pathway for empowerment and growth.”
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Yousuf-ul-Umer, Chairman IMT Bemina, delivered the concluding address, expressing gratitude to all partners and participating companies. He reaffirmed IMT institutions’ commitment to support employability and skill development for Kashmiri youth.
Shaukat Mufti, OSD, Hamdard Learning & Welfare Society, emphasized the role of social organizations in uplifting youth through employment-oriented initiatives.
M.D. Zargar, AMP Jammu & Kashmir State Head, highlighted AMP’s mission to bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting graduates and job seekers with industry opportunities. He reiterated that education remains the strongest tool to overcome poverty.
Prof. Abdul Gani, Director, IITM Srinagar, warmly welcomed dignitaries, company representatives, and candidates. He appreciated the overwhelming response to the fair and highlighted the remarkable growth in IITM’s academic programs. He further assured full support in employment generation, skill development, and youth empowerment in Jammu & Kashmir.
Shahid Haider, Head, Employment Assistance Cell (EAC), AMP, praised the massive participation, noting that the Srinagar Job Fair once again set new benchmarks in creating meaningful opportunities for the youth. This job fair was organised with more corporates giving ample opportunity to the youth of Kashmir. Looking at the kind of response, he added that we need to create more events to help the youth in #nationbuilding.
The fair witnessed thousands of enthusiastic candidates, with many shortlisted on the spot for interviews and placements. For several participants, it became a golden opportunity to take their career journey forward. This success was made possible through the unwavering efforts of AMP’s dedicated Kashmir Chapter team, IITM faculty and staff, Hamdard Learning & Welfare Society, and committed volunteers, who ensured the seamless execution of the event.
