Sopore, Sep 1 (JKNS): The 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday celebrated National Sports Day with great fervor and enthusiasm, paying tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary.
As part of the celebrations, the unit organized a three-day Inter-Company Volleyball Tournament from August 29 to 31, 2025, which saw participation from various companies of the battalion.The tournament was held at DPL Handwara, SDPO Chijhama ground, and the Battalion Headquarters in Wadoora, Sopore.
In addition to the volleyball tournament, a spirited football match was played between the Trainees and HQ Company 92 Bn CRPF at the Battalion Headquarters, showcasing the youthful energy and vibrancy of the force.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Commandant of 92 Bn CRPF highlighted the significance of sports in nation-building and the role of the CRPF in promoting a positive lifestyle among its personnel and the local youth. He emphasized that sports form an essential part of the CRPF’s holistic approach towards physical fitness, stress management, and camaraderie among troops.
The event concluded with the distribution of trophies and certificates to the winning and runner-up teams, with participants being lauded for their zeal, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The 92 Bn CRPF expressed its gratitude to the media fraternity for their continued support in spreading positive narratives and motivating the younger generation towards constructive activities. (JKNS)
