Srinagar, Sep 4 (JKNS): The weatherman on Thursday said that mostly dry weather is expected across Jammu and Kashmir, with overcast conditions in some areas.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif, who runs the Kashmir Weather platform, as per news agency JKNS said that the weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain mostly dry, though some areas may witness overcast conditions.

He said that towards late afternoon there is a possibility of a short thundershower at a few places, mainly in higher reaches. “Light rain or thundershowers won’t impact the water level of Jhelum. Weather-wise, there is no threat,” Arif as per JKNS said.

Regarding the river situation, he said the water level of Jhelum will recede but at a very slow pace. “At Sangam, it may take more than six to seven hours for the level to fall below the Danger Mark. At Ram Munshi Bagh, the receding could take almost a full day before it dips below the Danger Mark. At Asham, levels are expected to remain between 13.60 and 13.90 ft,” he added. (JKNS)
