Anantnag September 4: MLA Anantnag West Constituency, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, conducted an extensive visit across flood-affected areas of his constituency on Wednesday, assessing the scale of damage and interacting with residents in distress.
The on-ground assessment covered multiple blocks and villages, including Shamsipora, Shoul, Sursona, Batingoo, Uranhall, Kanjigund, Pushwara, Hanji Danter, Mir Danter, Lalan, Kamad, Schcian, Bon Dialgam, Her Dialgam, Papyabal, Ashajipora, Mominabad, Bagi Nowgam, and Heaven Colony, among others. Accompanied by officials from various line departments, the MLA aimed to monitor ongoing relief operations and understand the immediate needs of the affected populace.
During his visit, locals raised several concerns, ranging from damaged infrastructure to the urgent need for relief materials and rehabilitation support. The MLA gave a patient hearing to the grievances and assured prompt action.
“Our government, led by Omar Abdullah, is fully committed to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In times of crises like these floods, we are determined to respond with swift and meaningful interventions, be it in terms of rehabilitation or addressing other public grievances,” Larmi told JKNS News Correspondent Kousar Gull.
He emphasized that the people of J&K have high expectations from the Omar Abdullah-led government, and reaffirmed the commitment to address all issues affecting the daily lives of the citizens.
The visit has sparked a sense of hope among residents, many of whom are optimistic that the MLA’s intervention will lead to concrete actions and lasting solutions to their long-standing problems.
