Srinagar, Sept 7 (JKNS): The seventh and final body of a Kashmiri worker, who was missing after the Kullu landslide in Himachal Pradesh was recovered on Sunday.

Nasir Khuehami, National Convenor of Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, (JKSA) told news agency JKNS that SP Kullu, Karthikeyan Gokulchandan, informed him that the recovery operation led by the district administration with the support of the NDRF and other agencies successfully retrieved the last missing worker.

He added that the mortal remains of all seven workers will now be repatriated with full dignity and will be transported via Chandigarh Airport on Monday before being flown to Srinagar. Ambulances will be arranged by the J&K Government to carry the bodies to their native villages for final rites.

Khuehami expressed gratitude to the Himachal Pradesh Government, district administration, and SP Kullu for their tireless efforts in the difficult rescue and recovery operation.

He also appreciated the humanitarian approach of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, who ensured dignified transportation and full support.

The Association also thanked the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and other central agencies for working relentlessly under extremely harsh and risky conditions to recover the trapped workers.

It further acknowledged the J&K Government’s timely assistance in arranging transportation and ambulance services. (JKNS)
