Handwara, Sept 7: To further enhance police-public relations and address the issues of locals, Handwara Police under the supervision of SHO Kralgund organised a Police-Public Meeting at Village Ashpora, Kralgund. The event saw significant participation from residents of Ashpora and adjoining villages.

Locals highlighted their concerns regarding civic amenities, law and order, and daily challenges. The chairing officer patiently heard their grievances and assured that genuine demands would be addressed promptly, while issues falling under other departments would be taken up with concerned authorities.

To improve accessibility, official contact numbers were shared with the public, encouraging them to reach out in emergencies. The SHO reiterated that the police station doors remain open for all and urged close cooperation between locals and police to maintain peace and harmony in the area.

Awareness sessions were also conducted on new criminal laws (NCL), cyber frauds, drug abuse, and other social evils. Participants appreciated the initiative and pledged their cooperation with police for peace, order, and welfare in the area. (JKNS)
