PSA on MLA Mehraj Malik, Unjustified, Misuse of Law: CM Omar Abdullah Meets Family Members
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Sep 9 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated his strong opposition to the detention of Doda MLA Mehraj Malik under the Public Safety Act (PSA), calling it an unjust and undemocratic step.

CM Omar took to social networking site twitter where he as per news agency JKNS wrote Today, I met the father and other family members of Mr. Mehraj Malik, Hon’ble MLA Doda. I reiterated that the use of PSA against the Hon’ble MLA is completely unjustified and a blatant misuse of the powers of preventive detention.

On Sep 8 Mehraj Malik was detained under Public safety act, where the official administrative order cited Mehraj Malik as threat of public order. (JKNS)
