Srinagar, Sep 14 (JKNS): Large parts of the Kashmir Valley witnessed unusual heatwave conditions on Sunday as maximum temperatures settled several degrees above normal at most stations, according to data compiled by Kashmir Weather.
Details available with news agency JKNS stated that In Srinagar, the mercury touched 32.6°C, which is 4.8°C above normal, while Qazigund recorded 32.2°C, nearly 5.7°C above the seasonal average.
Pahalgam saw a maximum of 27.2°C (3.3°C AN), Kupwara 32.6°C (4.1°C AN), Kokernag 30.8°C (5.3°C AN), and Gulmarg 23.8°C (5.2°C AN).
In Jammu region, the day temperature in Jammu city stood at 33.8°C, slightly above normal, while Banihal and Bhaderwah recorded 29.2°C and 29.5°C respectively.
Batote logged 26.1°C and Katra was relatively cooler at 28.2°C, nearly 1.8°C below normal.
In Ladakh, Leh registered 25.6°C and Kargil 29.1°C, the data showed. (JKNS)
