Srinagar, Sep 14 (JKNS): The Ladakh Marathon being the the highest marathon in the world, held in Leh, Ladakh, India at elevations of 11,555 feet requires unique significant acclimatization beforehand.
A marathon recognised at national and international levels is known for being a challenging endurance and includes different races viz full marathon and ultra endurance Khardung La Challenge captivating extremism of scenery that enthuses the participantsl to assure elevation of natural bondage. Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, Senior Assistant, Regional Passport Office, a Kashmiri energetic and resilient soul from district Srinagar has turned out to be the first and only Kashmiri whose participation in the 12th edition of the world’s highest marathon today emerged as a brand while being among the challenging endurances.
The scenery and elevators turned under the feet of Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh to plant the flag by finishing the Ladakh Marathon in two hours & five minutes. He has turned out to be the emerging resilient and brave muscle version of the soul of Kashmir who participated in the event on 14th September 2025 for the second time.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Ladakh Marathon is a significant international event, recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh having been a finisher of Ladakh Marathon that too at an age of 46 has set an exemplary performance through elevators, thin air, challenging situations inch wise, muscle healthier regulation of soul.
