Srinagar, Sep 16 (JKNS): Traffic Police Headquarters J&K on Tuesday said that the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is yet to be fully restored at Tharad, Udhampur, where only single-lane traffic is being managed due to uneven road surface and intermittent rains.
In its advisory as per news agency JKNS, the department said that slow movement was observed on the highway and commuters are requested to strictly follow lane discipline to avoid unnecessary congestion.
It said that subject to fair weather and road clearance, traffic will be allowed one-way for LMVs from Srinagar towards Jammu tomorrow, September 17, from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) between 6 am and 11 am.
No vehicle movement will be permitted from Jammu towards Srinagar, it said.
The advisory further mentioned that LMVs heading towards Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban from Jammu will be permitted from Nagrota between 7 am and 10 am, while vehicles coming from Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban towards Jammu must cross Nashri Tunnel before 10 am.
Traffic movement on Mughal Road, Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road, and Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road will continue in a regulated manner depending on weather and clearance from the concerned agencies, the advisory added. (JKNS)
