45-Year-Old Shepherd Mauled to Death by Wild Animal in Kokernag

Anantnag, Sep 19 (JKNS): A shepherd was killed in a suspected leopard attack in the Mathar forest area of Daksum in Kokernag on Friday.

An official told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Bashir Ahmad Chopan, son of Ghulam Rasool Chopan, resident of Tangpaw Sagam, Kokernag.

Official said police, locals and a health department team reached the spot after the incident.

The body will be handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities, they added.

Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation initiated. (JKNS
