Srinagar, Sep 22 (JKNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Monday said that more than 1.37 lakh metric tons of fresh fruits have been dispatched from the Valley over the past ten days using the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, Mughal Road, and the train parcel service.
Briefing reporters Div Com Garg, as per news agency JKNS, said that on average 1,500 to 2,000 fruit-laden trucks are cleared daily. He added that an alternate movement pattern through the highway and Mughal Road has been put in place to ensure hassle-free transportation.
He further informed that truck movement has significantly increased, with nearly 3,500–4,000 vehicles passing through the highway daily. The parcel train service to New Delhi is also carrying 800–1,000 tons of fruit consignments per day, he added. Garg assured that there is no shortage of essential commodities, including fuel and LPG, and appealed to people not to pay heed to rumors. (JKNS)
