Anantnag, Sep 23 (JKNS): Jammu & Kashmir Bhartiya Janta Paety under the ongoing Seva Pakhwada programmes dedicated to the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, carried out a massive Swachhta Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) in Anantnag district.

The campaign was led by J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, along with senior party leaders, district functionaries, and activists.

J&K BJP General Secretary Anwar Khan, Secretary Mudasir Wani, District President Rakesh Koul, district Prabhari Sofi Yousuf, and others were also present.

The cleanliness drive commenced from key public places, where BJP leaders, along with local volunteers, took active part in cleaning the surroundings, removing garbage, and spreading awareness on the importance of hygiene and sanitation.

The programme drew enthusiastic participation of the local people, who appreciated the efforts of BJP in giving priority to cleanliness and community service.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Koul said that cleanliness is not just a temporary drive but a mass movement that requires collective participation.

He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a call for Swachh Bharat with the vision of a clean, healthy, and responsible nation.

He said that as part of Seva Pakhwada, BJP workers across J&K are taking this message to every district.

He added that clean surroundings reflect a clean mindset, and it is our moral duty to ensure hygiene in our homes, villages, towns, and hospitals.

He further stressed that service to society in the form of cleanliness, health, and compassion is the true way of celebrating the birthday of the Prime Minister.

Later, the BJP team also visited District Hospital Anantnag, where food kits were distributed among attendants of patients.

The initiative was aimed at extending support to the needy and reinforcing the party’s commitment to social service.

Anwar Khan appreciated the spirit of volunteers, saying that the overwhelming response to the cleanliness drive proves that people understand the value of hygiene.

He said that it is encouraging to see citizens joining hands with BJP in this noble mission.

Rakesh Koul said that from cleanliness drives to food distribution, our workers are reaching out to every section of society. He termed the exercise as the real spirit of Seva. (JKNS)
