Srinagar, Oct 5 (JKNS): Director General Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta, emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future of sports in Jammu and Kashmi.
During a press conference addressed in Srinagar as per news agency JKNS, Director General Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta launched a podcast titled “Khel Khel Mein.”
“The podcast will feature personalities who have achieved significant milestones and can guide others. This includes coaches of national and international repute. They will have the opportunity to share their experiences, guide young players, and answer questions through this platform,” Anuradha said.
She added that children from different regions actively participating in sports deserve recognition and this initiative will help acknowledge their efforts and give them much-needed visibility.
“To make this possible, we have decided to create dedicated media platforms through social media handles such as YouTube, Instagram, and podcasts. The aim is to highlight the journey of players and give them wider visibility,” Gupta said.
She further emphasized that under the J&K Sports Policy, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports has been assigned a crucial role in information dissemination, and this new initiative will serve as a strong tool to fulfill that responsibility.
“Sports for All, Fitness for All is our mission. It is a key part of our sports policy mandate. To achieve this, we must move forward together. This will only be possible when civil society and the community join hands with us,” she added.
Giving details on launching of Podcast, “Kheel Kheel Mei”, Anuradha said, “The podcast will feature interviews with successful players and renowned coaches, sharing their experiences and guiding the next generation.”
This platform will be available on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Azhar Hajini Media & Publicity Coordinator of the Department shall be host of the podcast, she added.
Further, Director General Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Anuradha Gupta, provided details of the 69th National School Games for Football (Under-19 Boys), scheduled to commence from October 6, 2025, at the TRC Football Ground in Srinagar.
DG Gupta outlined the extensive arrangements made to ensure the smooth conduct of the prestigious event, which will witness participation from 30 teams representing states across India. She added that six venues have been designated to host the matches of the sports extravaganza.
“The Department is also organizing School Nationals in Wushu, Taekwondo, and Table Tennis, and the dates for these championships have already been announced,” she said.
DG Gupta emphasized that this initiative aligns with the J&K Sports Policy and the department’s core mission of “Sports for All, Fitness for All.” She underlined that achieving this goal requires collective effort, calling on civil society and the community to actively support the initiative.
Speaking further about the 69th NSG, she said that all logistical arrangements, including accommodation, multi-venue coordination, transport, and medical support, have been meticulously planned to ensure a safe and memorable experience for participants and officials.
During the press conference, the official YouTube channel and Instagram page of the Department were also launched to provide wider visibility to the games.
The 69th National School Games represent a landmark moment for Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting its emergence as a premier sports destination and providing a national platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and sportsmanship.
