Baramulla, Oct 05 (JKNS): In a notable initiative, the Chief Education Office (CEO) Baramulla launched a week-long Mental Health Awareness Week across the district.
The event was inaugurated at the CEO office, where CEO Baramulla Peerzada Bashir Ahmad Shah, Deputy CEO Iftikhar Bashir, and District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Baramulla Tariq Ahmad Kanjwal, along with other staff members, took a pledge to “keep the mind fit” and give mental health the same importance as physical well-being.
The “Pledge Day” was observed with enthusiasm in all government and private schools across district Baramulla.
An official said the Mental Health Week aims to identify students dealing with stress, anxiety, or any mental health challenges. Such students will receive counseling and guidance from teachers to ease their concerns.
“In the present times, students face various kinds of stress and depression due to multiple issues. Our focus is to create a safe space for them where they can openly share their problems with teachers. This will help them come out of a depressed state and move towards a healthier and positive mindset,” the official said. (JKNS)
