Srinagar, Oct 6 (JKNS): A 15-year-old girl, who had sustained grievous injuries in a road accident in the Panthachowk area of Srinagar last month, succumbed to her injuries on Monday at SKIMS Soura.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that, the deceased has been identified as Roziya Hameed, daughter of Abdul Hameed, a resident of Rajouri district. She was critically injured in the mishap on September 15 and had been undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura since then.

“After battling for life for nearly 20 days, we eventually lost her today,” a family member said with grief.

The last rites of the deceased were performed at her relatives’ graveyard in Bijbehara.

The victim’s family alleged that the person responsible for the accident, as well as his family, did not extend any support during the course of treatment.

“The accused and his family never came forward to help us with medical expenses or even visit us after the accident. We were left helpless,” said Sadik Hameed, brother of the deceased.

The family has demanded strict action against the person involved in the incident. (JKNS)
